Playing lively Afro-Cuban salsa and Latin jazz, electric violinist and vocalist Susie Hansen has been a favorite in Los Angeles for twenty-five years. Her ensemble, the Susie Hansen Latin Band, has performed to hundreds of thousands of people, and they love to get the audience up and dancing—as Susie says, “We aim for the feet!” Their music appeals to audiences of all ages and a wide variety of ethnic backgrounds. Susie and her band play familiar and traditional salsa in Spanish, many original salsa and Latin Jazz compositions, Latin-style interpretations of American jazz standards, typico Cuban Charanga music, and great salsa and cha cha cha in English. Their music also includes the popular Latin dance styles of cumbia, merengue, and bolero. The salsa vocals are authentic and improvisational. Her all-star band features Daniel Castillo on lead vocals and congas, Kaspar Abbo on lead vocals and guitar, Joe Rotondi on piano, and other great musicians. The band is truly a crowd pleaser with its rhythmic energy and drive.
A long-time favorite in Los Angeles, Susie, and her band play more than 150 live performances every year, including for such events as the Playboy Jazz Festival, Fiesta Broadway, San Jose Jazz Festival and Newport Beach Jazz Festival. Susie has toured nationally with her band, and has personally appeared and/or recorded with Tito Puente, Orquesta Los Van Van, Celia Cruz, Giovani Hidalgo, Vikki Carr, Orquesta Aragon, Paquito d’Rivera, Francisco Aguabella, Macy Grey, Jose Rizo’s Jazz on the Latin Side All-Stars, Tierra, El Gran Combo, Rachel Z, Bobby Matos, Orquesta Broadway, and Sonora Poncena. The band has opened for Los Lobos, Diane Schuur, Andy Montanez, Tito Nieves, Nestor Torres and more. Her recorded music has sold widely and charted well with radio and club DJs across the US and throughout the world.

With their blend of rockin’ Texas Blues spiced with a heavy dose of New Orleans funk, Teresa James & the Rhythm Tramps serve up a delicious sound that makes it impossible not to get up and move your feet.
Originally from Houston, Texas, she has assembled a group of some of the top LA based touring and session musicians who have played with such legends as Taj Mahal, Tower of Power, Bonnie Raitt, Eric Burdon, Delbert McClinton, Jimmy Reed, just to name a few.
Teresa is a ‘singer’s singer. Bonnie Raitt is TERESA’s fan!
Teresa herself has worked with many great artists – Levon Helm, Randy Newman, Delbert McClinton, Leon Russell and lots of others. Her last 2 CDs were voted ‘Best Blues CD’ for the Independent Music Awards and her 2008 release, “Bottom Line,” garnered her a nomination by the Blues Foundation for Contemporary Blues Female Artist of the Year.

The Strong Rhythm and Blues Quintet play a groove-driven contemporary blues and rock style of music. Fronted by stand up drummer/singer Chuck Strong, a resident of Santa Clarita since 1968, he has been playing locally and touring all over the country with this Santa Clarita Valley based band. Chuck’s original vocal sound and style as well as his drumming-influenced songwriting make for an experience like no other.
The name SRBQ is a “Tribute” moniker to NRBQ who inspired Chuck to sing and write rhythm and blues influenced songs back in the late 70’s.
They are currently gearing up to support his third album, “Blues To Grey”. The new project is being produced at Mystic Mountain Sound Studio by former MCA and Motown Records artist Paul Marshall and studio owner/engineer David Grover. SRBQ’s deep pocket groove is driven by John Davis (Ricky Nelson, The Hellicasters ) and Paul Marshall on guitars, and David Grover (Elvin Bishop, Mikey Thomas, Rufus and many more) on Bass. Rounding out the SRBQ sound with his powerful sax playing is the Legendary Jim Scimonetti. Jim is currently playing with Captain Cardiac and the Coronaries as well as other local groups.
SRBQ is a two time winner of our local SCV Blues Society’s Battle of the Blues Bands and has competed in Memphis at the International Blues Challenge twice.

Tony Galla Bio: Internationally acclaimed singer-songwriter Tony Galla was discovered in Buffalo, New York by renowned disc jockey Joey Reynolds, recording his first hit single, In Love (Swan Records). Climbing quickly up the Billboard charts, In Love became a national cult hit in the U.S. and throughout the UK and Europe, where it currently remains a popular hit. Heavily influenced by the soulful sounds of artists like B.B. King and Ray Charles, Tony developed his own bluesy sound and unique passionate style quickly becoming the lead singer of the blues band, Raven. After releasing their first album, Live at the Inferno (Discovery), rock legend Jimi Hendrix helped Raven land a recording contract with Clive Davis and Columbia Records, releasing a second album, Raven and the single, Feeling Good. Soon Tony could be found jamming into the wee hours of the night with Jimi Hendrix or Janis Joplin at local nightclubs in New York City. Tony toured extensively with Raven gaining worldwide attention and opening for prominent groups like Joe Cocker, Led Zeppelin, Procol Harem, The Byrds, The Young Rascals, Blood Sweat and Tears, Three Dog Night, B.B. King, Eric Clapton and Buddy Guy.
Mark LeVang Bio: Born into a musical family, SCV’s Mark LeVang is a well-recognized and brilliantly dedicated musician husband, father. As the son of a successful studio guitarist, Mark learned at an early age on how to make a business out of music. After honing his craft while enlisted in the United States Air Force Band Mark returned to Los Angeles to make his way through the many avenues and alleyways of the local music scene. From all indications, this has worked brilliantly for him. Mark’s talents as a multi-faceted recording keyboardist composer/arranger and musical director have created a unique brand that transcends every venue, from Motion Picture Scoring Stages to ‘High Society’ Events Worldwide. “Firstly, I am a steward to the music,” Mark states. Kelly’s Lot weaves a variety of Americana styles on a Blues and Rhythm Foundation. Lead by singer/songwriter Kelly Z, the band has released 11 CDs and performed at countless concert venues and events.
